Healthcare Card
Check how to obtain the medical card to access healthcare services while staying in Italy.
The Healthcare Card (“Tessera Sanitaria”) is the document enabling extra EU citizen to access the Italian healthcare services for stays longer than 3 months.
The Healthcare Card is necessary to access services like medical visits, hospital treatments, medications purchase.
Foreign citizen can obtain the Healthcare Card once the request of Permit of Stay has been done. Healthcard will be valid for the whole duration of the Permit of Stay.
